How it works.
Book online
Pick a bike and your dates, and pay ¥1,000 to book. It comes off the rental when you pick up.
Passport photo, not passport
When you register at the counter, upload a photo of your passport from your phone. The passport stays in your bag.
Back by 22:00
The counter is open 9:00 to 17:00. After that, return the bike at our door yourself until 22:00.

What are the rules for riding in Japan?
- Keep left. Bikes ride on the left, same as cars.
- Hands free. No umbrella and no phone while you ride. Both are against the law here.
- Walk it through crowds. In Nishiki Market and busy shopping streets, get off and push.
- Park in bike parking. Bikes left on the pavement get towed.
- Lights on after dark.
Do I have to book?
No. If a bike is free, walk in and ride. In spring and autumn bikes go fast, and a booking holds your bike and size for the day.
What if my plans change?
Change your dates for free up to 23:59 the day before pickup, and the ¥1,000 you paid moves with you. Cancel by then and we refund it in full. Cancel later and the ¥1,000 is kept; if you paid in full, we refund the rest. No-shows aren't refunded.
How do I pay?
Booking online, you pay ¥1,000 by card to book and the rest at pickup: cash, card, Alipay, WeChat Pay or the other usual ways to pay in Japan. For one or two days you can also pay in full online and save 10%. There is no security deposit.
Can my kid come along?
Small kids ride in the child seat of the GYUTTO CROOM R, our mom's e-bike. The seat takes kids from 1 year old until they start primary school, 8 to 24 kg and 70 to 120 cm tall. We suggest age 2 and up.
